"GANVIE" - Ironworkz Sankofa Black History Month Event

This poem is titled “GANVIE” which means “we survived”, based on the town in Benin that escaped the Transatlantic Slave Trade by building their own self-sustaining community. The poem is told in traditional call and response form, where the audience affirms “we survived”.
